British Land art artist
Born in 1948
Anish KAPOOR is a world- reknowned visual artist who draws his inspiration from the encounter between Western and Eastern cultures.
His installations, with their basic geometric forms, often contain reflective surfaces that offer a distorted view of their environment.
These surfaces, especially when they alternate the concave and the convex, play on the opposition of shadow and light, the visible and the not visible, or even the conscious and the not conscious.
This results in subtly confusing effects, often carrying a metaphysical dimension.
