Christian LAPIE

French Land art artist

Born in 1955

A French sculptor  whose works spread far beyond borders.

His longilinear sculptures, elaborated from huge logs of burnt wood trees, are in the shape of totemic human silhouettes, taken to the limit of abstraction.

Barely sketched, «these figures who welcome us, look at us, and speak to us» question the human being about the meaning of their existence.

Despite the robustness of the trees from which they come, they remain enigmatic.
