Théo JANSEN

Dutch Land art artist

Born in 1948

This  sculptor  occupied an unprecedented place in the Land art field.

Based on the art of movement, his creations offer  completely innovative optical perspectives.               Made with plastic bottles and tubes, his sculptures evoke giant myriapods.  At the sole strength of the wind, they move slowly over the expanse of the nordic beaches.

They are not without evoking the ingenious mechanisms designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
